A history of silent interventions.
Aspen Cartel does not follow the traditional lifecycle of a brand. It is an archival project documenting the intersection of utility and absolute isolation.
It began in 1973, in the hands of the people who actually ran the mountain while the town was being sold. They made what they needed, kept a record of who had it, and let the rest disappear. The objects were issued, never sold. The records outlived the objects.
We are documenting it now, before it is lost. What you can see is a record. What you cannot see is sealed. Nothing here is for sale. It is kept as evidence.
